I want to write my first post on this blog about being happy because it is something so important and can affect the way you perceive life. Not many realize it though and that is why I decided to dedicate my first post to write about this topic!
I realize that not everyone has the time to be happy especially when we are living in such a stressful environment. Everyday, our mind is continually thinking about work, the kids, the social media, the news, etc. No way we can find the time to sit down and relax and enjoy the limited lifetime we are given to embrace. You will soon notice that everyone will start wanting to talk to you, if you become a happy person!
Here are 10 reasons why being happy is important:
1. It feels good!
Being happy makes us enjoy life more. We tend to want to go out, adventure and learn new things. When we are happy, we live in the moment. Meaning that we are having fun, smiling, and laughing.
2. We have a reason to live
Why do singers sing? Why do dancers dance? Why do entertainers work so hard to entertain the public audience? Doing these stuff requires hard work, dedication, hours of practice, and pressure. So why do they choose to do this? Yes it may be because of money, but it is usually because it makes them happy! We decide to continue to live because we have a reason to live and that reason is what makes us happy!
3. Makes you more grateful
When you are happy, you stop and think about others before yourself. You tend you thank others for making your life better. Being grateful is important because you will appreciate life more and your family and friends.
4. Live longer
Secrets to living longer include your genes, being healthy, being happy, not doing any bad habits like doing drugs, and having a stress-free life. Happier people are less likely to send out bad chemicals that come from stress hormones, which can lead to heart disease and more. Their lives will be more enjoyable, and their lives will more likely to be extended.
